11. Two Bedroom Cottage

Affordable and compact, this two bedroom cottage home would make a gorgeous empty nester or starter home. The smallest design in our top twelve, this plan provides only the essentials. But what it does, it does well. The living room is warm and inviting with a stone fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and built-in shelving. The dining room is light and airy, also with a vaulted ceiling and with views on three sides. This communal living space is cozy, friendly even, and flows nicely by the angled snack bar dividing the kitchen.
Both bedrooms access their own full bath. The front bedroom is generously sized, at 14’ x 11’ with vaulted ceilings. The back bedroom is adequately proportioned, and offers a large walk-in shower.
From the outside, this one is a charmer. The attractive wraparound porch is comfortable and offers protected outdoor space to spread out a bit. The tall chimney, cottage detailing, and radius windows add to the home’s charm.
