This Saturday, March 22, is U.N. World Water Day. Here's an easy way to mark the occasion: Take a few minutes to figure out how much water you're using on a daily basis. Not only will it give you a better understanding of your personal water use at home, but doing so will also give you a leg up on the majority of Americans. It tunrs out that many Americans have no idea how much water they're really using at home to water the lawn, flush the toilet, and take a bath, The Atlantic Cities reports. A researcher at Indiana University recently surveyed more than 1,000 people, asking them to estimate how many gallons of water is use for common household water uses. The answers were off--way off, sometimes to a factor of two.
