A FINAL SPECIFICATION FOR BATHROOM SINK FAUCETS from the Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program provides customers with a way to identify high-performance, water-efficient products for their homes. Faucets that meet the specification will perform well while using 30 percent less water than conventional models. To earn the WaterSense label, faucets must be independently tested and certified by a licensed certifying body to meet EPA’s water-efficiency and performance criteria. Labeled faucets
and aerators cannot flow at a rate of more than 1.5 gallons (6 L) per minute or less than 0.8 gallons (3 L) per minute while maintaining adequate pressure. For a list of products featuring the WaterSense label, visit www.epa.gov/watersense.
