Hickok Cole worked on the Commonwealth Center Building II's base building, a five-story, 162,000-square-foot LEED Platinum-certified office building. The design is based on the recognition that the highway side of the building is primarily viewed from a car moving at high speeds while the opposite park side is viewed by pedestrians.
The Commonwealth Centre Master Plan in Chantilly, Va., is seeking LEED Silver certification for the entire project through LEED Campus Overlay guidelines. the 100-acre master plan for the mixed-use development includes six office buildings, three retail buildings, and two hotels.
The interiors for the 6,300-square-foot headquarters of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, a Washington, D.C.-based trade association, is LEED-CI certified. The project includes rapidly renewable materials and materials with recycled content, lighting with occupancy sensors, access to views and natural light, and Greenguard-certified systems furniture and task seating.
