William Coit is fulfilling a lifetime dream of his to create affordable, independent homes for families in need. What he didn't realize, was that it wouldn't just be families in need who are interested in a sustainable tiny home.

Coit founded Jaguar Containers and builds JagPods - shipping containers equipped with solar panels and an energy storage system. In this Q+A with CleanTechnica, Coit says he's offering two versions: a 20-foot home starting at $30,000 and a 40-foot home starting at $60,000. His homes also have the option to be connected to the grid based on buyer needs.

Is your target audience in the US, abroad or both?
Initially, we are targeting customers in the US but our long-term goal is to sell units internationally. We have a global solution for third world countries that solves its housing needs. The JagPod can be built in 90 days and deployed anywhere in the world.

Does a Jagpod come with a warranty, and if so, what is it?
The JagPod carries a 10 year structural warranty. It offers great resistance to natural disasters, including resistance to winds of up to 100 mph.

See JagPod's Indiegogo campain video below to learn more about the project:
