GREEN POINTS: During its renovation and expansion, the Boston Children’s Museum used recycled and rapidly renewable materials, as well as added a green roof, storm-water-reclamation system, and real-time heating and cooling controls. The museum also trained the housekeeping staff about proper waste disposal. Its sustainability efforts earned it LEED for New Construction Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, Washington, D.C.
