Feeling that the green building industry lacks an organized and comprehensive system for retrofitting existing buildings, two assistant professors at Cornell University are working on a framework and methodology to streamline the process. Funded by a grant from the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute at Cornell Tech in New York City, the assistant professors are studying existing building data collection and management methods, and are also mapping data sources related to building energy performance, the Cornell Chronicle reports.  The project will also include focus group interviews with building occupants.
