GREEN POINTS: The 1,500-square-foot (139-m2) roof’s vegetation consists of 90 percent sedums (eight varieties) and 10 percent mixed perennials. In addition to helping the roof blend with its natural surroundings, other benefits include storm-water retention, insulation value and increased roof life expectancy.
